The Hellbound Heart is a scary novella by Clive Barker, initial published in November 1986 by Dark Harvest in the 3rd volume in its Evening Visions compilation collection. The tale features a hedonist criminal getting a mystical challenge box, the Lemarchand Configuration, which can be utilized to mobilize the Cenobites, demonic beings who do not identify between discomfort and satisfaction.
